Our Story

Natya began with a simple belief: dancers deserve shoes built as carefully as their art. Our founder, Anuradha Sehgal, spent more than two decades in footwear, training in the ateliers of Spain, leading a Spanish footwear brand in India and manufacturing for international names such as Hush Puppies, Aldo, Reserved and Galeries Lafayette.

She saw dancers across India making do with shoes that were never made for them: the wrong width, the wrong heel, and pain after every rehearsal. So we set out to change that. After years of research and feedback from working dancers, Natya was born.

The name comes from India's classical performing arts. Every pair is handmade to order by skilled artisans in India, in your standard size or made to your exact measurements, so it supports your feet, protects your posture and moves the way you do. From the studio to the stage, and to every night out in between.
